Anatomy Trains Structural Bodywork

Anatomy Trains Structural Bodywork

Structural Bodywork is deep tissue manipulation and movement re-education that addresses the root causes of the imbalances in your body. Imbalances in the body create compensations in our postural and movement patterns, which may lead to chronic pain, injury-prone and depleted energy levels.

Through Structural Bodywork, we work on your fascia - the soft tissue that connects everything inside our body - to realign your body in space so that it works in harmony with gravity. It alleviates chronic pain, improves balance and flexibility, facilitates expansive breath, elevates your mood, thereby creating possibilities for positive changes in your postural and movement patterns.

Visceral & Neural Manipulation

Visceral and Neural Manipulation are gentle manual therapies that work with the organs, nervous system, and connective tissue throughout the body. These highly specialised osteopathic techniques release deep restrictions in the body while enhancing the functioning of the organs and nervous system. With these methods we always work with the body, letting your tissues guide our hands to the right depth and pressure.

Visceral and Neural Manipulation are excellent therapies for old and new injuries, surgeries and chronic pain patterns. They are especially helpful when you’ve tried many things and nothing is working.

Scarwork BoneWork

ScarWork

Scar tissues form as part of your body’s natural wound healing process. Unfortunately, scar tissues are less elastic and can create adhesions. Adhesions stick structures together that would normally glide on each other. This can create functionality problems, affect posture and reduce your energy level.

With ScarWork, the intention is to soften and remodel the scar tissue through light touch. Whether new or old, ScarWork helps to reduce swelling, tightness and numbness; restore overall tissue function; improve range of motion; increase energy levels; and helps restore natural appearance.

Bodywork

BoneWork

Do you know that bone is a connective, living tissue that comes with a built-in ability to remodel? Bones are growing and changing all the time, just like other parts of your body!

Through BoneWork, we will work IN and THROUGH the bone’s plasticity to help resolve poorly healed fractures (e.g. broken collar bones) and distorted bony relationships (e.g. bunions). The work is rarely painful - even for recently broken bones, and the amount of change in one intervention is extensive. The cosmetic effect is favourable and the functional changes can be significant. The improvements appear to be permanent.

Disclaimer: The above Bodywork therapies are not intended to replace conventional medicine, but rather to complement it. If symptoms persist or if the ailment is severe, please consult a medical doctor immediately.
